This is an introductory course for business students that introduce the
basic computer concepts. This course is also designed to provide students with a broad
understanding of Internet, and provide an initial description of Microsoft Windows
environment and an application of MS Office 97 like Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Identify the major components of a computer system and their functions;
explain the principle of an operating system.
Learn the basic DOS and Windows commands, operate MS Window
independently.
Generate a high quality written report using MS-Word summarizing the
results of their research, present the research paper using MS PowerPoint.
Use of MS Excel (electronic spreadsheet) in business application as
applied to accounting documents requiring such needs as accounting, currency, and
computational operations.
Identify the basic mathematical tools and operations involved in
investment problems and in other basic financial transactions.
Appreciate the use of Internet as their research tools, and the trends
in Information Technology.
